Actress Kelsey-Beth Crossley explains how she finally discovered the real cause of the digestive discomfort that had troubled her for years.

Like most people who live a healthy lifestyle, Kelsey-Beth Crossley still likes to treat herself every now and then. The former Emmerdale star and contestant on BBC One’s The Voice confesses to having a weakness for fresh bread and delicious curries.

But the pleasure of indulging in her favourite food is almost always followed by the pain and discomfort of a bloated stomach.

Although it sounds trivial, bloating is not simply the after effects of overeating. Instead it is a recognised medical complaint that is surprisingly common, affecting at least 20 per cent of adults in the UK.

Kelsey-Beth from Blackpool, Lancashire, has not been diagnosed as intolerant to any foods and the severity of her bloating has declined since her diet and exercise regime helped her reach her target weight of 10st 7lb.

“I never used to really think about what I was eating but now I stick to a much healthier diet and the bloating is not as bad. I also take a twice-daily dose of a natural supplement called Thisilyn Artichoke (£7.99 for 30 tablets from Boots or visit which really seems to help”.
